As an apprentice proprietary derivatives trader you will be taught the basics of the profession in an internal training. You will learn about markets, derivatives pricing and position management. This will be followed by closely monitoring experienced traders in actual trading situations. Finally you will start trading on your own, coached by these experienced traders. As a junior trader you immediately will be responsible for your own trading results and be able to work on a career for yourself, depending on your attitude and results. We offer an excellent opportunity for bright, young individuals to join a challenging and often demanding business in a dynamic working environment in Amsterdam with the possibility growing into a position with a very rewarding remuneration.
A junior trader must comply at the least to the following:
- a completed university education
- excellent numerical and analytical skills
- work experience not over two years and not necessarily in the trading field
- a competitive attitude and a great drive to go for succes.
Finally, although no experience is needed, affinity with financial markets is very important. There is no need to have any specific knowledge of derivatives yet. However, you must be able to explain clearly what attracts you in becoming a trader. If you are a novice, but interested in the subject, we suggest reading the following literature:
- Natenberg: Option, Volatility and pricing
- Hull: Options, futures and other derivatives.
Core qualities: you are a team player, result-focused, full of initiative, accurate and stress resistant. Furthermore you have to be sociable within the group, at and after work.
If your specific qualities and motivation meet our requirements and you are interested to work with us please send us your resume with an accompanying letter. The first step in the application procedure will be an invitation for a test, which involves analytical and numerical skills. If passing this test, you will be invited for a second round of interviews with the trading staff and members of the management. Finally you will receive notice, if Cross Options is going to make you an offer. Interested in becoming a trader? Forward your application to: email@example.com
